23 NovOvarian Cyst and Pregnancy Symptoms

An ovarian cyst and pregnancy are not good news for yourself or for your unborn child. Knowing that you have an ovarian cyst while pregnant therefore is very important so that you can detect early on if you have a cyst and so can take action against it ASAP! If you do not detect early and act there is a chance those cysts can twist or rupture which can lead to a miscarriage.

Here are some ovarian cyst symptoms to be aware of when you are pregnant:

  • Pelvic area pain
  • Severe and sudden pain
  • Pressure in the abdomen or pelvis (which is not your baby of course!)
  • Aches in thighs and lower back
  • Pain when urinating or with bowel movements
  • Sensitivity of the breasts

Unfortunately many of these symptoms can be caused also by the pregnancy making discovering an ovarian cyst when pregnant a difficult thing to notice.

Generally feeling a pressure inside you that is not your baby kicking or just growing or the sudden pain is the only way to be suspicious of such an event. If you have any thoughts that you might have a cyst then you can get your doctor to perform an ultrasound to find out for certain if a cyst exists.
