23 NovOvarian Cysts and Pregnancy – Pain & How to Relieve It

ovarian cyst and pregnancy painOvarian cysts and pregnancy are not a good combination. The long term effects of this on you and your developing child are quite bad with many women suffering ruptured cysts or twisted cysts which can result in premature births or often a miscarriage!

The short term effects however are usually related to the pain of a cyst as it presses against your internal organs and against your growing child. Cysts can often grow larger and he pain if they are twisted can be intense to the point of agony. This is not just bad for you but the pain and stress you feel has a knock on effect to your baby who is completely linked in to your internal systems.

So to protect your child and yourself from this pain here are a few pain relief tips.

  • Heat – Heat packs and hot water bottles are a good way to apply heat to your back where it can seep in to promote blood flow and ease pain. A hot bath can also help to relieve ovarian cyst pain and will relax you too which is important to de-stress.
  • Massage – While it might seem like madness to apply pressure to an area being pressured by a cyst this does help to relax the muscles around that area and promote blood flow. This can reduce pain from ovarian cysts while pregnant.
  • Avoid Pain Killers – Not so much a ‘to do’ thing but a word of advice. Pain killers can cause side effects that can be harmful to your child in some women and may make you feel quite ill. More natural pain relieving herbs such as white willow bark and even aromatherapy has been useful for many women to relieve pain and relax

However none of these will cure a swollen ovarian cyst. You must take action against your hormonal imbalance to shrink a cyst which takes a change in lifestyle and a dedication to it which should be an easy choice to make when your child’s life might be effected.

I WAS READING IT TO AND AS YOU SAID JESSICA, MY DOCTOR EXPLANINED TO ME THAT THE OVARIE AND MY BABY HAS NOTHINGTO DO WIT ONE ANOTHER. SHE SAID THAT THE OVARIE DO NOT HELP THE BABY SURVIVE OR ANYTHING SO IF IT RUPTURE OR GET REMOVE YOU WILL BE OK. IM 13 WEEKS PREGNANT AND I HAVE A CYST SIZE OF A ORANGE AND SHE TOLD ME AND REASSURE ME THAT IT WILL BE OK TO HAVE THE REMOVAL DONE OR EVEN IF THE OVARY TWIST OR BURST B4 I GO INTO SURGERY. SO I DEFINITLY UNDERSTAND YOU AND DONT BELIEVE WHAT I READ ABOVE. BUT I DID HAVE A QUESTION WAS THE PAIN AS BAD AS THEY SAID IM NERVOUS BC IM HOPING IT GET REMOVE B4 THE PAIN OR TWIST HAPPENS?

    Hi Girls,

I am not a doctor so you should always consult them first – but I was experiencing a LOT of pain and it was worrying, I also simply REFUSED to go into surgery. I really did not want to – I am big on natural healing and preferred to go that way.

That being said everyone is different and you might experience different things but I always say you should try a natural remedy before you opt for something more dangerous and risky.
I wish you both he best of luck!

    Hi Aliata,
There are quite a few different methods in a complete natural treatment for ovarian cysts. These are detailed more fully in the book I promote on this site – but I can tell you that there are a number of different aspects that you need to look into. When all of these tie together they work together to provide a massive boost in the speed of recovery. Such things as:

    – Diet: Reducing foods that cause hormonal imbalances and promote good female hormone balance.

    - Herbal Remedies: there are a number of herbal remedies that can help with this condition such as Chaste berry for example but you need to do a bit of research into which will be best for you.

    - Exercise: Not just exercise, but the best ways to exercise to promote better hormonal health.

    - Cognitive Exercises: Amazingly HOW you think can help you have better health. negative and stressful thinking actually causes stress levels to rise for instance.
